Eeva-Maija Priha is a visual artist, sculptor and art pedagogy based in Finland. She studied sculpture in the University of Castilla La-Mancha, Spain and the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, from where she received her Master of Fine Arts in 2007. Her practice concentrates on working with sculpture, installation and drawing. Her minimalistic visual language reflects experiences related to landscape, environments and nature. Drawing is essential to her practice; it is a straight and natural way to express her notions of everyday life.
Priha has had several solo exhibitions including for example Imatra Art Museum, Gallery Sculptor and Helsinki Art Museum Gallery Kluuvi. She has been participating in group exhibitions both in Finland and abroad. Priha has been working in artist residencies in Italy, Estonia, Norway and Germany.
Priha has a strong experience in teaching visual arts. She completed pedagogical studies in 2017 and has also studies on Adult Education, Special Education and Art Education.
